MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a preliminary 2.1 magnitude quake shook close to Lake Pillsbury Sunday morning.
The tremor struck at 7:44 a.m., with its epicenter located approximately 10 miles northwest of Lake Pillsbury and a depth of just 2 miles.

Two quakes of equal strength this week
Two tremors, exceeding magnitude 2.5, each with a magnitude of 2.9, were recorded in the region last week. The first was detected near Cobb two days ago, and the second struck near Lake Pillsbury on July 6.
