IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a preliminary 2.5 magnitude quake rattled near Ocotillo Saturday evening.
A tremor struck the region at 7:32 p.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was positioned roughly 10 miles east-northeast of Ocotillo and occurred at a depth of just 3 miles.

Tremors past week
Over the last week, six quakes of magnitude 2.5 or greater have been recorded in the area. The strongest, a 4.3 magnitude quake, was registered close to Calipatria two days ago.
