SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — A 3.5 magnitude quake was registered close to Pinnacles Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
A tremor shook the area at 1:31 a.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 4 miles east of Pinnacles and occurred at a depth of 7 miles.

According to the USGS DYFI report, weak shaking was recorded and people in several cities—including Carmel, Seaside and Soledad—reported experiencing the earthquake.

Last week’s quake
Over the last week, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 2.5 centered in the region. Seven days earlier, it was reported near Pinnacles.
