Update: Earthquake of 3.5 magnitude recorded close to Pinnacles, CA on July 12

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — Saturday morning, a 3.5 magnitude quake was registered near Pinnacles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 1:31 a.m., the region was rattled by a tremor. The earthquake shook at a depth of 7 miles, with its epicenter roughly 4 miles east of Pinnacles.

Those who experienced the quake are encouraged to report it via the USGS Felt Report form. So far, the agency has collected 18 online responses from individuals indicating that they felt the tremor. Weak shaking has been detected and people reported feeling the earthquake in several cities, including Carmel, Seaside and Soledad according to the USGS DYFI report.
