CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — on Saturday around midnight, a preliminary 2.1 magnitude quake was detected near Danville, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
At 12:19 a.m., the region was struck by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 5 miles, with its epicenter about 1 mile southeast of Danville.
