Update: Earthquake of 4.3 magnitude detected near Calipatria, CA on July 11

IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA — A 4.3 magnitude quake was recorded close to Calipatria Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the area at 2:55 a.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was positioned about 7 miles west-northwest of Calipatria and occurred at a depth of 7 miles.
