Seismic activity on July 11: Earthquake near Petrolia, CA registered – magnitude 3.4

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — A preliminary 3.4 magnitude quake was recorded close to Petrolia Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook at 8:06 a.m. (7:06 a.m. local time), with its epicenter located about 34 miles west-northwest of Petrolia and a depth of 7 miles.
