The National Weather Service released an updated red flag warning at 2:16 p.m. on Tuesday in effect until 9 p.m. for Upper Arkansas River Valley including Lake County and Chaffee County and Eastern San Juan Mountains and La Garita Mountains including Wolf Creek Pass and Creede.

Winds are forecasted to be west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity as low as 9 percent.

“Elevated fire danger is expected. Fires will catch and spread rapidly and erratically,” says the NWS.
