A 5.9 magnitude quake shook close to Kirakira on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 16:42 UTC (03:42 local time), was centered about 102 km south-southeast of Kirakira. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 6.0 but later downgraded to 5.9.
