According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.3 magnitude quake occurred close to Balleny Islands region Saturday night.

The tremor hit the area at 10:25 UTC (21:25 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated of Balleny Islands region.
