A 5.1 magnitude quake was reported near Vilyuchinsk Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 10:21 UTC (21:21 local time), with its epicenter located roughly 188 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk and a depth of 10 km.

Two quakes closeby past week

Over the last week, there have been two tremors exceeding magnitude 2.5 centered in the same area. The largest, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake, hit prior to this quake, while the other, measuring 4.3, was detected on January 21.
