Wednesday afternoon, a 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 07:45 UTC (18:45 local time), the region was hit by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter about 166 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
