At 02:10 UTC (13:10 local time), the region was hit by a tremor. The earthquake shook at a depth of 13 km, with its epicenter roughly 159 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky hit twice past week

Over the last week, there have been two earthquakes, above magnitude 2.5, centered nearby. Both measured 4.8 maginude and were recorded in the same area. One of them occurred one day ago, and the other on December 2.
