ANTOFAGASTA PROVINCE, Antofagasta—the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.1 magnitude quake shook near Antofagasta Thursday afternoon.

The tremor, which struck the area at 20:31 UTC (16:31 local time), was centered about 92 km southeast of Antofagasta. It occurred at a depth of 82 km.
