A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Balkanabat on Wednesday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 07:55 UTC (12:55 local time), a tremor shook the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter about 60 km north of Balkanabat.
