5.0 magnitude earthquake strikes near Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on July 30

Wednesday night, a 5.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Severo-Kuril’sk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which rattled the area at 10:54 UTC (21:54 local time), was centered approximately 206 km east-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
