Update: Earthquake hits region close to Kuril’sk, Russia on Feb. 12 – 5.0 magnitude detected

Thursday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was registered near Kuril’sk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor struck the area at 21:32 UTC (07:32 local time). The epicenter was located about 148 km south-southeast of Kuril’sk, at a depth of 10 km.
