Update: Nov. 9 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake recorded near Yamada, Japan

Sunday evening, a 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Yamada, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 09:16 UTC (19:16 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated approximately 121 km east of Yamada.

Over the last week, there have been six quakes with a magnitude 5.5 or greater centered nearby. The largest one was a 6.8 earthquake that was registered in the same region prior to this quake.
